There are better ways to play this game nowadays, but Megaman X3 PC port made by Minakuchi Engineering back in the late 90s is still a surprisingly fun way to play Megaman X3... ignoring the several flaws that exist like a stack overflow that prevents you from fighting a specific boss lest your game will crash, or the fact that your save file will just randomly vanish out of nowhere, or that there is no proper fullscreen for modern computers because it was made with smaller monitor resolutions in mind, or that the game just doesn't work on Windows 11 anymore (I mean, what retro game does work on Win11 out of the box anyway?)
Wish there was a modernization mod or patch for this game, but I'm guessing the demand for it is low as there are better ways to play it on PC (via MMX Legacy Collection) and emulation. Though, there's one thing that me and a friend of mine found out... the sounds and video cutscenes of the games are easily replacable. So potentially one could make a superior audio pack and cutscenes for this game, or... absolutely ruin this game with shitpost memes (which is exactly what we did. will show a funny video comp of my friends reacting to it soon!).
I feel the game has a bunch of potential for modding bogged down by a ton of flaws like using outdated file formats specific to 90s computer programming. What do you guys think? Have you guys ever played this specific version of Megaman X3?
