I usually do virustotal first, then just test in a virtual machine and check process monitor or task manager. For patchers, I usually patch the exe/dll, then copy the patched files manually outside the VM so I never have to run the patcher on the host machine. I just override files.

Heh, sorry we can't do much with a project file without any resources, But if you wanna speed up rendering by a mile, change both "Resample mode" to "Disable resample" and "Field order" to None (progressive scan). Just disables needless motion blurring and interlacing. Exporting as preview also...

I had the non-iso version I got from their discontinued download page and the PC user magazine home version. There was an ISO of Corel C&C that is extremely similar though. Either way it's on the CDN now.
