I have moved all this information + created some fresh HQ diagrams to GitHub instead.

Here are the HEX files required for modding a PS1 if you are burning your own chip.
MrMario2011 made a good tutorial video on how to make them using a chip programmer.

MM3/MultiMode3 (mm3_hex_dump.zip) will work with pretty much every PS1 except for the PAL PSOne slim models, as it has the extra detection (also some detection for custom boot logos? Use OneChip instead).
The MM3 works on 12C508, 12C508a, 12C509, 12C509a PIC chips.

ONEChip (onechip_hex_dump.zip) is designed exclusively for PAL PSOne slim models.
However the onechip only works on 12C508a PIC chips!

Note eurasia needs an account for downloads, which is fine but what isn't fine is that there's a special password required to create an account. However to get the password you have to either ask a member on the site (which the site is very inactive nowadays) to give you it. Or another method is to connect to their IRC channel and a bot will tell you the password. Only 1 problem.... the IRC is dead.... (for fucks sake why do I always happen to get stuck in this dead link situations everyday ::angry::)
So to save you a two hour headache, the NUP (new user password) is not4pants
Good luck!

Here's some diagrams for the PS1 PAL Colour (or color) mod.
Basically allows you to run NTSC games over composite on a PAL PS1 with the correct colours.
It works by making a PAL60 signal on NTSC games instead.
Apparently some rhythm games might desync slightly though as it's like a 0.1% speed difference compared to plain NTSC.
